ARTIST ARE OUTRAGED AFTER AI-GENERATED ARTWORK WINS A COMPETITION IN THE UNITED STATES

A guy won first place in a fine art competition using an AI-generated artwork.

The news was conveyed by Jason Allen, the president of Colorado-based tabletop game firm Incarnate Games, via a Discord post.

Jason Allen earned first place in the digital art category with his piece 'Théâtre D'opéra Spatial.' The image, which appears to be a blend of classical opera and space, was created by an AI software called Midjourney, not by Allen.

"After a one-month break, I'm back with an exciting news regarding my own Midjourney project. I've been working on a special prompt that I'll be releasing at a later date "Allen uploaded his artwork on Discord and wrote on it.

While Allen won the main competition, he appears to be losing it on Twitter, where many are upset that a digitally made artwork won first place in an art competition.

"It's almost as if artists are clever people who can tell you exactly how this type of behavior devalues what we produce, and you should listen to us when we point out the faults," one Twitter user said.
