IN A LAWSUIT, ELON MUSK'S TESLA IS CHARGED WITH FRAUD AND DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING OF "AUTOPILOT" TECHNOLOGY
Tesla is being sued by motorists who claim the firm misled them about the capabilities of its autopilot technology.
Briggs Matsko, a Tesla customer who claimed to have paid $5,000 for the autopilot update in a 2018 Tesla Model X, filed a class-action complaint this week in a California court, asking for damages and a jury trial.
The lawsuit cited a number of comments made by Musk online and by the business on its website regarding Tesla's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, the name of its autopilot technology.
According to the lawsuit, the film is still displayed "prominently" on Tesla's website.
In 2016 and again in 2019, Musk promised, Tesla vehicles would be capable of doing a completely autonomous cross-country travel.
There hasn't yet been a totally autonomous cross-country journey.
