Four days after starting her major role as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl on Broadway, Lea Michele revealed that she had tested positive for COVID-19.
On her Instagram Stories, the actress broke the terrible news and said that she must remain in quarantine while she recovers.
The former Glee member revealed that she wasn't the only person in the theatre suffering from the illness.
With nearly a dozen employees currently absent, she noted, "Funny Girl has been and is still fighting a massive wave of COVID."
Lea, 36, cancelled her matinee and evening performances for September 10 after exhibiting "early indicators" of the coronavirus.
She said on her Instagram Stories with a broken heart emoji, "I'm devastated to say that owing to early signs and symptoms of COVID and an inconclusive test result". Lea will make a comeback to the program on Tuesday, September 20.
