Two buses carrying refugees and migrants have landed close to US Vice President Kamala Harris's residence in Washington, DC.
The buses left Del Rio, Texas, and arrived on Thursday morning.
A hundred migrants were left in the vicinity of Harris's home, coming from Colombia, Cuba, Guyana, Nicaragua, Panama, and Venezuela.
Abbott stated that until the border is secured, "Texas will keep sending migrants to sanctuary cities like Washington, DC."
Right-wing governors have been relocating immigrants to liberal areas in an effort to make a point about border security.
After a more than 30-hour journey, roughly 100 individuals emerged from the buses with very little luggage.
Immigration rights organisations and a number of state and municipal authorities have denounced the Republican initiative as "evil and inhumane."
