2 men were convicted for plotting the kidnap of Michigan Governor, Gretchen Whitmer.
The convicted are identified as Adam Fox, 39, from Grand Rapids, western Michigan and Barry Croft Jr., 46, from Bear, Delaware.
Joshua Blanchard and Christopher Gibbons, defendant lawyers have asked for a new trials for the convicted men.
They said that the judge was unfair and there was a misconduct from the opposition.
Defense lawyers also accused the judge of violating the rights of Fox and Croft.
U.S. District Judge Robert Jonker had a private conversation with the juror who denied suggesting that the verdict was already decided.
The defense has given a 14-day time period for the prosecutors to respond.
