Tiffany Haddish has responded to a child sexual assault complaint brought against her and comedian Aries Spears.
"I'm sure folks have a lot of questions. I understand, "Haddish said in a message released on Monday to her verified Instagram account.
According to a complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court last week, Haddish and Spears are accused of "groomed and assaulted" two then-minor siblings.
"Jane Doe" and "John Doe" (names omitted to preserve their privacy) were 14 and 7 years old, respectively, when they claim Haddish and Spears forced them to engage in sexually explicit movies in separate occasions in 2013 and 2014.
According to Haddish's counsel, the plaintiff's mother "has been attempting to raise these fraudulent accusations against Ms. Haddish for numerous years."
Haddish stated on Monday, "...although this sketch was supposed to be comic, it wasn't funny at all - and I profoundly regret agreeing to appear in it."
